Clay Street <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution regarding FY2008/2009 CDBG funding <br /> for the rehabilitation. The resolution provides funds up to $20,000 for the installation of a new <br /> domestic hot water heater for the (14) units of low-income Single Resident Occupancy (SRO). <br /> The fourteen units are located at 788 E. Clay Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In September 2008, the City of Decatur published a Request for Proposal for CDBG funding for <br /> Multi-Unit Rental Rehabilitation with emphasis to benefit very low/low income persons. <br /> Rehabilitation could include safety and security improvements, incorporate energy and/or <br /> accessibility improvements. Proposals were received and scored by the Neighborhood <br /> Redevelopment Division. Dove, Inc. was one of the qualified proposals for the CDBG funds. <br /> The proposal will allow Dove, Inc. to replace the existing system with a new boiler which will be <br /> the latest in energy efficiency. Staff recommends approval of funding for the 788 E. Clay Street <br /> project. Agreement for the project described above is attached. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: <br /> None known. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Neighborhood Redevelopment Division staff and CDBG regulations.
