Perry, Purchasing Supervisor��„�' <br /> SUBJECT: Bid for All Terrain Vehicle <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awardinb contrac� to Bobcat of <br /> Sprin�field to furnish a 2008 Bobcat 2200 all terrain vehicle. <br /> BAr'KGROUND: This vehicle will be a new level of service for the Fire Depart�rnent. 7�he all <br /> terrain vehicle will be used whenever the tecllnical rescue team is n7obilized for eir�ergencies and <br /> for training. 7�echnical rescue emergencies tend to be remote and inaccessible for lire ap}�aratus. <br /> The all terrain vehicle will move equipment and person��el in and out ��f the "hot zones'' <br /> throughout eacl� operation. Fire personnel antieipate using the all terrain vehicle �t events such <br /> as the Farm Progress show, Rodney Miller triathlon and the Decatur Celebration. The A��V will <br /> be statiolled at Fire Station #3 and used for EMS calls to tlie west end of I�airvie�� Park and foi- <br /> the bil<e trails on the west end towards Rock Springs Center. <br /> POTCNTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Fire personnel requested the vehicle. Fleet Maintenance <br /> wrote the specificatioi�s. Both recommend approval of the bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Sel<osky, Fire Chief, 424-2811 and Jeff Abbott, Deputy Fire <br /> Chie£ 424-2811. Matt will be at the council meeting to answel• any questions the c��uncil ma�,� <br /> have aboLit this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $9980 from the Fire Prograins & Cadets Fund. <br />
