RESOLUTION NO. R2008-148 <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING <br /> NELSON PARK BASIN <br /> LAKEFRONT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, on September 2, 2008 the Decatur City Council heard a presentation <br /> regarding the Nelson Park Basin Lakefront Development Project; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Nelson Park Basin Lakefront Development Project is a public-private <br /> partnership with the City of Decatur, the Decatur Park District, and the Private Sector; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the goal of the Nelson Park Basin Lakefront Development Project is to <br /> enhance the quality of life and economic opportunity in Decatur through the development of the <br /> community's lakefront assets into highly desirable destinations for both residents and visitors. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That with the financial support of the Decatur Park District and the private <br /> sector the Decatur City Council commits $30,000.00 to hire a firm to assist in efforts in the <br /> development of a plan to enhance the Nelson Park Basin area. <br /> PRESENTED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of September, 2008. <br /> MI HAEL T.
