Alexander, Director of Water Management � <br /> SUBJECT: U.S. Department of the Interior Joint Funding Agreement for Streamflow <br /> Gaging Stations <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing a Joint Funding Agreement with the U.S. <br /> Department of the Interior(U.S. Geological Survey) at a fixed cost of$11,275. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The U. S. Geological Survey operates streamflow gaging stations on the Sangamon River at <br /> Monticello, Illinois and the State Route 48 Bridge in Decatur downstream of the Lake Decatur <br /> Dam. The stations are essential for monitoring the amount of water entering and leaving Lake <br /> Decatur. For approximately 21 years the City has participated in similar Joint Funding <br /> Agreements to provide necessary cost share funds to operate the two stations. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: I� <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> U.
