Smith, Interim City Mana er <br /> Ron Neufeld, Finance Director <br /> SUBJECT: Replacement of Garpeting on Second Floor of Civic Center <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution, which <br /> authorizes the payment of funds to the Decatur Civic Center, for the purpose of replacing <br /> the carpet on the second floor and the carpet on the stairs going to the third floor, in the <br /> amount not to exceed $38,690, and the cost of safety upgrades to elevators, in the amount <br /> not to exceed $10,000. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Finance Director has rnet with Bud Wilcox, the General Manager of the Decatur <br /> Civic Center for the purpose of discussing the replacement of the carpeting on the second <br /> floor of the Civic Center as well as the carpeting on the stairway going to the third floor. <br /> There is also a need for safety upgrades to the elevators. BLDD Architects, Inc. has <br /> estimated that the cost to make these improvements would not exceed $48,690. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this <br /> resolution. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Bud Wilcox, Civic Center General Manager <br /> Gene Dillow, BLDD Architects <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: Ron Neufeld, Finance Director- 450-2226 <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> $48,700 has been included in the current year's budget under Civic Center on page 11. <br />� <br />
