Price Options—2008 The City of Decatur staff evaluated the following options for services starting June 2008: • Return all accounts to Ameren and pay the current default rate. Default rates have increased effective June 2008 by 18%. Accounts that return to Ameren are required to remain with Ameren for 12 months. The South Water Treatment Plant account would be returned to Ameren and placed on hourly default rates. Hourly rates are volatile and traditionally the most expensive price option. • Issue a Request for Proposal and seek competitive prices for services to start on the June 2008 meter read date. The City staff determined that since the first Request for Proposal process was successful that they would issue a new request for services. Request for Proposal—June 2008 The City issued a Request for Proposal to the following suppliers: • Ameren Energy Marketing • Constellation New Energy • MidAmerican Energy • PEPCO Energy Services • Spark Energy • Strategic Energy • Sempra Energy Solutions • Suez Energy Resources NA, Inc. • Vanguard Energy Services The original Request for Proposal document and attachments are quite lengthy but are available for inspection in the Finance Department.
