The resolution authorizes the expenditure of up to $872,710 in City funds to match$1,327,053 in Federal funds for a total project cost of $2,199,763. BACKGROUND: ' On March 10, 2008, the City Council authorized an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for the construction of streetscape improvements on West Main and Fairview Avenue around Millikin University. The agreement was for$752,947 in City funds to match$1,327,053 in Federal funds for a total estimated project cost of$2,080,000. Bids were taken by IDOT and opened on Friday, Apri125, 2008. The City was notified that Otto Baum, Inc. provided the sole bid on the project for$2,199,762.58. This bid is $119,763 in excess ofthe estimated cost. The City Council will need to authorize an additional$119,763 in funding for the project to proceed. POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution.
