PRAIRIELAND TOWING, INC. <br /> POLICY RELATING TO RELEASE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY CONTAINED WITHIN <br /> VEHICLES TOWED AT THE DIRECTION OF DECATUR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> Introduction <br /> Prairieland contracts with the City of Decatur for the towing and storage of vehicles as may be <br /> directed by the Decatur Police Department. This policy applies to personal property contained in any <br /> vehicle towed and stored by Prairieland at the request or direction of the Decatur Police Department, <br /> except those vehicles that are directed by the Decatur Police Department to be held absent express release <br /> by the Decatur Police Department. I <br /> Duties of Dis atchers I <br /> P I <br /> Upon the request for release of personal property (not property becoming part of the vehicle, such �I, <br /> as speakers, tires, wheels, etc.) contained within a vehicle towed and stored by Prairieland at the request I <br /> or direc�ion oi the Decatur Police Department, the dis�atc�,er s�all: <br /> (1) deal with the individual requesting release of personal property in a polite and professional <br /> manner; <br /> (2) request tiie ciaimant to (a) complete the Reiease Requ�st r uir�� �y �i�vidir�g a d�scri�ti�n of <br /> the �ersonal pra��rty far which release is requested, (b) execute and date thc release request form, (c) <br /> provide identification of the claimant (if the claimant states that his identification is in the vehicle towed <br /> and stored by Prairieland,the dispatcher will have the identification retrieved by a Prairieland employee); <br /> (3) upon satisfaction of the requirements of (2) herein, release the personal property to the <br /> claimant unless the property is of such a nature that is possession or transportation by the claimant may be <br /> unlawful. <br /> If the claimant commits an act threatening in nature or otherwise acts in violation of law, the <br /> dispatcher shall contact the Decatur Police D,epartment. <br /> EXHIBIT D <br />
