. , <br /> COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FORM <br /> PURCHASING & INTERNAL SERVICES MEMORANDUM <br /> #08-19 <br /> March 19, 2008 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council <br /> FROM: Steve Ga City Manager ,� <br /> Ron Neufe inancial Management Director <br /> Deborah M. erry, Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for single axle truck chassis with service body <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Crossroads <br /> Sterling to furnish one (1) 2009 Sterling & Stahl Acterra single axle truck chassis with service <br /> body. <br /> BACKGROUND: This equipment will be used by the Traffic Control Division. It will replace I <br /> a 1999 Navistar 4700 single axle truck chassis with a Stahl body currently in service. The low <br /> bidder agrees to trade in the existing trucic. <br /> This truck is used for sign removal and repair as well as installing new street signage. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic Division requested the vehicle. Fleet <br /> Maintenance wrote the bid specifications. Both recommend approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Engineering & Infrastructure, 424-2747. <br /> Richard will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the council may have about this <br /> purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $83,879 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
