Perry, Purchasing Supervisor�j� <br /> ��r <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Pickup Truck <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Jacicson Ford <br /> to furnish one (1) 2008 Ford F 150 4.21iter '/z ton regular cab pickup truck. <br /> BACKGROUND: This vehicle will be assigned to the Water Services Division for the <br /> Engineering Technician position and vehicle approved in the FY 2005-2006 budget. When the <br /> technician position was filled, the previous supervisor never ordered the vehicle. Due to previous <br /> staffing vacancies, it has been possible to meet transportation needs by temporarily reassigning <br /> vehicles within the division. The vehicle will be used by the technician for doing filed surveys, <br /> monitoring construction of new and replacement water mains, and assisting field personnel. A , <br /> total cost analysis was performed on these bids and Jackson Ford was the most responsive and , <br /> responsible bidder. �' <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: N n I <br /> o e <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Services requested the vehicle. Fleet maintenance <br /> wrote the specifications. Both recommend approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Engineering & Infrastructure, 424-2747. <br /> Richard will be at the council meeting to answer questions the council may have about this <br /> purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $14,028.95 from the Water Fund. <br />
