♦
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
#2008 —O1
DATE: January 2, 2008
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Steve G City Manager
Ron Neuf , inance Director
;
SUBJECT: Conversion of Finance Department Office
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution, which
authorized the payment of funds to the Decatur Civic Center, for the purpose of converting the
sale tax unit office #207, into two private offices, in an amount not to exceed $9,073.
BACKGROUND:
The Payroll Administrator has been moved to the Finance Department and is currently sharing an
office with the City Auditor. Both deal with confidential matters and need individual offices.
The Finance Director has met with Mike Pritchett, Assistant Manager of the Decatur Civic
Center for the purpose of discussing the conversion of the one large sales tax unit office into two
offices. One would be occupied by the Payroll Administrator and the other by the City Auditor.
The estimate to convert the offices is $9,073, which is the lowest of three bids.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Mike Pritchett, Civic Center Assistant Manager
STAFF REFERENCES: Ron Neufeld, Finance Director (424-2702)
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
No money has been appropriated in the current year's budget. However, every effort would be
made to cover it out of General Fund —Non Departmental budget. If that is not possible then a
supplemental appropriation would need to be approved a year end.
