S <br /> Cih�of Dcca�tn•on behalJo�/hc Decatcn•Police Depm•/nient <br /> Anti-Gnng IniNalive <br /> Agrcemenl #l07026 <br /> INTERAGENCY AGRE�MENT <br /> Proiect Saf'e Nei�hborhoods—Centr�l District Anti-g�n� <br /> This interagency agreement is entered into by tl�e Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, with its offices at <br /> 120 South Riverside Plaza, Chicago, Illinois 60606, hereinafter referred to as the "Authority," and the City of <br /> Decariir on behalf of the Decatur Police Department, hereinafter referred to as the "Implementing Agency," with its <br /> principal offices at 1 Gary K. Anderson Plaza, Decatur, Illinois 62523, for implementation of the Anti-Gang <br /> Initiative Pi•ogram. <br /> WHEREAS, Section 7(k) of the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act (20 ILCS 3930/7(k)) establisl�es the <br /> Authority as the agency "to apply for, receive, establish priorities for, allocate, disburse and spend grants of fiuids <br /> that are made available...from the United States pursuant to the federal Crime Contt•ol Act of 1973, as amended, and <br /> similar federal legislation, and to enter into agreements with the United States government to further the purposes of <br /> this Act, or as may be required as a condition of obtaining federal funds;" and <br /> WHEREAS, the Authority shall administer fiinds received for Illinois' Federal Fiscal Year 2007 Project Safe <br /> Neighborhoods Program to implement programs that contribute to the improvement of gun law enforcement <br /> activities and reduction of violent crime. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AGREED by and between the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority and <br /> the Implementing Agency as follows: <br /> SECTION 1. DEFINITIONS <br /> "Program": means a plan set out�n a Program Description that identities prohlems related to gun law <br /> enforcement and reducing violent crime and that contains a statement of objectives to address <br /> those problems,sri�ategies for achieving those objectives, and a method for assessing the <br /> effectiveness of those strategies. <br /> SECTION 2. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE AND COSTS INCURRED <br /> The period of performance of this agreement shall be from October 1, 2007 September 30, 2008. <br /> Costs incurred before the execution date of this agreement may be cllarged to this agreement if included in Exliibit <br /> B, incurred during the period of performance, and the Implementing Agency performed in accordance with the <br /> tein�s and conditions of this agreement. <br /> The Authority shall not be responsible for costs incurred before or after the period of performance of this agreement. <br /> SECTION 3. COMMENCEMENT OF PERFORMANCE <br /> If perforniance has not commenced within 60 days of the starting date of this agreement,the Implementing Agency <br /> agrees to report by letter to the Autl�ority the steps taken to initiate the program, the reasons for the delay, and the <br /> expected starting date. <br /> ILL�NO/S CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMAT/ON AUTHORITY <br /> Feder�rl a�zd State Crants Unit <br /> / <br />
