This system is technologically identicai to the STARCOM21 network. The other region partners have completed the <br /> ' engineering and have obtained proposalsfor integrating infrastructure and obtaining subscriber equipment;this will allow the <br /> participating agenciesto utilize the STARCOM21 system. <br /> MDICE,a private,stand-alone digital 700l800 MHz trunked voice radio network has been operational in Champaign County <br /> ' since July 2007. By November 9, 2007,all police agencieswill have begun using the system with fire and public works <br /> ; agenciesscheduled to migrate to the system by March 2008. <br /> The goal of the Ce�tral Illinois Regional Emergency Network(qREN)project isto integ�ate the existing MDICE network to <br /> , STARCOM21 and enhance the performance of the existing infrastructure and subscriber equipment to allow Decatur, <br /> Springfield, and Sangamon County first responder agenciesto begin using the STARCOM21 network. This integration will <br /> ' allow for comp{ete statewide interoperability for the partnerjurisdictions while still permitting local and regional autonomy by <br /> use of operational talkgroup plarts. <br />
