No application received electronically or postal dated after 11:59 p.m. (CST) <br /> on November 9, 2007 will be considered for funding. <br /> Eligible Apnlicants <br /> To be eligible for PSIC funding assistance from the State of Illinois, a public safety agency must <br /> be a state or local govemment entity or authorized nongovernmental organization. A public <br /> safety agency may include homeland security, law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical <br /> services, among others. For example, such State public safety agencies may inctude the Illinois <br /> State Police, Illinois Department of Public Health, and Illinois Emergency Management Agency. <br /> Authorized nongovernmental organizations may include for-profit ambulance services, volunteer <br /> fire fighters, and agencies that are responsible for responding to 911 calls, among others. <br /> Pub. L. No. 109-171, § 3006(d)(1), 120 Stat. at 24 (2006). As defined in the OMB Circular A-87, <br /> local government means a"county, municipality, city, township, local public authority, school <br /> district, special district, intrastate district, council of governments (whether or not incorporated <br /> as a non-profit corporation under State law) any other regional or interstate government entity, or <br /> any agency or instrumentality of a local government." <br /> PSIC will not support single agency applications. All projects should be multi jurisdictional <br /> and/or regional in scope. <br /> Fundin�Availabilitv <br /> Under this grant program, up to $36.4 million is made available in grant awards to successful <br /> applicants. This amount includes $16.2 million allocated for the Chicago Area Urban Area <br /> Security Initiative, as recommended in the PS/C Program Guidance and Application Kit. <br /> Match Requirement <br /> 6 <br />
