Mass Transit Memorandum <br /> No. 091207-1 <br /> September 12, 2007 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council Members <br />, FROM: Steve Gannan, City Manager <br /> Paul McChanc Mass Transit Administrator �- <br /> Y <br /> , .�"� <br /> � <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase Order for One (1) Freon Recovery/Recycling Machine <br /> SUMMARY Staff recominends that Council adopt a Resolution awarding a purchase <br /> RECOMMENDATION: order for one (1) Freon recovery/recycling machine to Rogers Supply <br /> Coinpany. <br /> BACKGROUND: Staff wishes to purchase a Freon recovery/recycling machine for Transit's <br /> maintenance shop. This machine would replace an old inachine that can <br /> no longer be repaired. The Maintenance Superintendent requested bids <br /> on the Robinair model #17800B which recovers, recycles, evacuates and <br /> recharges multiple refrigerants, including R12, R22 and R134a. Three <br /> bids were received, as shown on the attached bid tabulation, with the bid <br /> of Rogers Supply Company (Decatur, IL)being the lowest at $6,788.53. <br /> Staff is satisfied that the bid of Rogers Supply Company is the lowest and <br /> best bid for the proposed purchase. <br /> POTENTIAL No known objection to awarding the purchase order to Rogers Supply <br /> OBJECTION: Company. <br /> INPUT FROM James Gillum, Maintenance Superintendent <br /> OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Public Transit System <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: P�ul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator <br /> BUDGET/TIME Staff has already obtained a federal grant for 80% of this purchase. <br /> IMPLICATIONS: City funds would be required for the remaining 20%. <br />
