P y, Purchasing Supervisor(�'� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids on Water Meters <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Badger Meter, <br /> Inc, to furnish water meters for a three year period. <br /> BACKGROUND: The water meters are used by the Water Services Division as replacements. <br /> The City's system currently contains 97% Badger Meters. This standardization helps reduce <br /> repair costs since less parts would be needed for inventary. The staff in Water Services are <br /> trained in the installation and repair of Badger Meter water meters. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Services wrote the bid specifications and <br /> recommend approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Water Management Director — 424-2863. Randy <br /> Miller, Water Services Manager — 875-5705. Keith will be at the City Council meeting to <br /> answer any questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $164,781.60 from the Water Management Fund with the following breakdown: <br /> 5/8" - $62.90 <br /> 5/8 x 3/4" - $62.90 <br /> 3/4" - $72.00 <br /> 1" - $96.10 <br />
