Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for tree and bush removal—Reas Bridge <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Walker's Tree <br /> Care to furnish herbicide application and tree and bush removal along Reas Bridge embankment <br /> adjacent to Lake Decatur. <br /> BACKGROUND: This project is being done for landscape maintenance of the shoreline. In <br /> addition, from a safety standpoint, it will open the view of traffic on the road. A similar project <br /> was completed last winter on Lost Bridge Road. <br /> A condition of the bid was that the successful vendor must dispose of all landscape debris from <br /> this project in a legal and proper manner or in a landscape waste facility. <br /> The low bidder has also provided the City with proof of insurance and named the City of Decatur <br /> as additional insured for this project. <br /> The low bidder has provided the necessary bonding requirement for this project. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Lalce Division requested the work be done and wrote the <br /> specifications. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Water Management Director, 424-2863. Joe Nihiser, <br /> Lake Supervisor, 424-2837. Keith will be at the meeting to answer any questions the council <br /> may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $20,792.00 Tree & Bush Removal <br /> $ 595.00 Herbicide Application <br /> $21,387.00 from the Water Lake Capital Fund. <br />
