A xander, Director of Water Management ��, <br /> SUBJECT: Water System Improvements Phase II—City Project W06-03 <br /> Engineering Services Agreement Amendment No. 1 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Engineering Services <br /> Agreement for Water System Improvements - Phase II with Strand Associates for a cost not to <br /> exceed $145,000. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> As presented to Council last April, this project is Phase II of a combination of Water System <br /> Security Improvements and South Water Treatment Plant SCADA Improvements. Construction <br /> bids will be opened on June 8 and a bid award recommendation is planned for the June 18 <br /> Council agenda. The amendment is required so that Strand Associates can provide contractor <br /> inspections and quality control, equipment startup and testing support, and construction <br /> administrative services. Strand Associates is highly recommended as they recently completed <br /> the engineering and design services for this project as well as the recently completed Phase I <br /> proj ect. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Strand Associates. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
