N well, P.E., City Engineer� <br /> o-i� `�J <br /> SUBJECT: Concrete Pavement Restoration: <br /> South Water Treatment Plant, Woodford Avenue, 27th Street <br /> City Project 07-11 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the contract <br /> for Concrete Pavement Restaration: South Water Treatment Plant, Woodford Avenue, 27th Street, City <br /> Project 07-11, to Otto Baum Company, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of <br /> $505,462.80 to reconstruct the South Water Treatment Plant driveway and back lot, perform joint <br /> replacement on Woodford Avenue and repair failed pavement sections on 27th Street, and that the <br /> Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This project is to reconstruct the South Water Treatment Plant driveway and back lot, perform joint <br /> replacement on Woodford Avenue, north of Garfield Avenue, and repair failed pavement sections on <br /> 27`n Street, as shown on the attached maps. The work will include removal of the existing failed <br /> concrete pavement, stabilizing the road base and placing new concrete pavement. The project also <br /> includes added quantities to perform "on call" concrete pavement repairs throughout the remainder of <br /> the fiscal year. <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by Engineering Division staff. The project was <br /> advertised May 9, 2007, and bids were opened on May 24, 2007.
