AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, desires to cooperate with the Macon County Soil and Water Conservation District to encourage, promote and establish good soil and water conservation practices in the Lake Decatur Watershed area in order to keep the soil on the land and reduce fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide runoff into the Lake. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED by and between the District and the City as follows: 1. The term of this Agreement is for finrelve (12) months, commencing May 1, 2007, and ending April 30, 2008. 2. If the City desires to continue these conservation efforts beyond the time period of this Agreement, the City and District will develop a proposed work program. The District will then submit a budget for this work program to the City for initial review no later than October 31St of the year preceding the termination of this Agreement. 3. The District will, when requests are submitted in a timely manner, provide to the City research, review and recommendations for the Upper Sangamon River (Lake Decatur) Watershed Planning Committee, subcommittee activities, City requested USDA NRCS watershed management plan addressing sediment as the main resource concern, watershed nitrate and sediment management alternatives, City agricultural field activities, Heart of the Sangamon River Partnership, Agricultural Watershed Institute, public and private grants and other City staff requests. The City recognizes that the recommendations may require District Board approval. 1
