Alexander, Director of Water Management �� <br /> SUBJECT: Agricultural Watershed Institute Research and Education Agreement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing an Agreement with the Agricultural <br /> Watershed Institute (AWI) for Research and Education in the amount of$30,000. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The AWI is requesting $30,000 in support in fiscal year 2008 to continue and expand work in <br /> their current research focus areas, educational programs, and additional areas as determined in <br /> consultation with the City. Major work categories are: <br /> • Nutrient management <br /> • Beneficial use of dredged sediment <br /> • Analysis of water supply and dredging options <br /> • Biomass energy <br /> � Shared learning program <br /> If approved, this will be the second consecutive year of this agreement with financial support. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
