. • � r <br /> COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FORM <br /> PURCHASING & INTERNAL SERVICES MEMORANDUM <br /> #07-12 <br /> Apri14, 2007 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council <br /> FROM: Steve G , City Manager <br /> Ron Neufe Financial Management Director � <br /> Deborah M. erry, Purchasing Supervisor�j-� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for 4 x 4 extended cab long bed pickup truck with lift gate and plow <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract to Bob Ridings, <br /> Inc.to furnish one (1) 2008 Ford F250 4 x 4 extended cab long bed pickup truck with lift gate and <br /> plow. <br /> BACKGROUND: This pickup truck will be used by the Lake Division. It will replace a 1999 <br /> Ford F250 pickup truck with a plow currently in use. <br /> There is no estimated fuel expense shown because EPA does not rate vehicles larger than 8500 <br /> pounds gross vehicle weight or 3/4 ton in size. <br /> A review of the bids indicates that Jackson Ford provided an estimated resale value for a truck <br /> that is one year newer that specified. The correct estimated resale value is $9,800. Based on the <br /> correction, Bob Ridings of Taylorville would be the low bidder. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The Lake Division requested the pickup truck. Fleet <br /> Maintenance wrote the bid specifications. Both recommend approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Ricic Marley, Director of Engineering and Infrastructure, 424-2747. <br /> Dick Borders, MSC Manager, 875-4820. Ricic will be at the council meeting to answer any <br /> questions the City Council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $28,725.00 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
