The agreement is for a total expenditure of <br /> $590,000 which includes $472,000 (80%) from the Federal Highway Bridge Program and a <br /> City match of$118,000 (20%). <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In February of 2006, the City Council authorized an agreement with URS Corporation to <br /> design a deck replacement for the Mound Road Bridge over Stevens Creek located <br /> approximately %4 mile west of MacArthur Road. The design is substantially completed and <br /> preparations are being made with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to bid the li <br /> proj ect. I <br /> The attached agreement authorizes Federal funds to be used to replace the deck which has <br /> suffered extreme deterioration. On February 6, 2006, the City, under order from IDOT,placed <br /> a weight restriction on this bridge prohibiting truck traffic from using the structure. ' <br /> The proposed proj ect will replace the deck structure of the bridge consisting of the beams and �I� <br /> pavement deck. The work will also include some rip rap placement for scour reduction and <br /> some work on the creek bed to remove sediment. With the approval of this agreement the <br /> project will go forward under the direction of IDOT with immediate site supervision being <br /> provided by City Engineering. IDOT will bid and award the contract and provide assistance to <br /> the City representative who will monitor the on-site construction work. <br />' City funding for the work is currently estimated at $118,000 with a Federal contribution of <br /> $472,000 for a total estimated project cost of$590,000. <br />
