We
appreciate the opportunity to have served the City in this capacity for iearly twenty yeai-s
now. Through that time; we feel that your Watcr Production employees would agree that
we have grown to be a very reliabletnd responsive contractor for them.
From our perspective, here are a few of the advantages we offer you over the others who
may be pursuing tlis contract with you:
1. We have an established sales force throughout Macan and the surrounding
counties that have a trusted retationship built with the farmers o£the area. These
farmers who are actuaily the owners of our coinpany, offer the available ground
for application of tlie line sludge and work closely with our salesmen on alI crop
ilput needs. This relationship offers the greatest potentia] for availablc
applieation sites of your lime sludge.
2. Our work force and contracted trucking companies for the project are hired and
live locally and therefore contz-ihute back to the Decatur economy.
3. We have a tested ability to remove the needed quantity of lime slti►dbe. With tl►e
a3ready established EPA permit for our Lime Pocessing Facility in Cerro Gordo,
we can now assure the full contract removal of limc even in"bad weather"years.
4. Our land applicatioi method iiliquid fonn is highly respected and accepted by
not only the farmers in the area but the overall community as well. It ofFers a
very clean removal operation and means oPtraFsport, which keeps it from being a
nuisance to the community.
5. Lazd application laas become greatly appreciated by the coininunity as a way of
returing the lime to the soil for reuse as oposed to hcing concentrated in
landfill where they become concet-ned about thc evironmeital ramitications.
6. As a]ocal person having worked with your Water Department employees for l 6
years, my integrity should be unquestioned and my commitinent to servinyour
i3eeds and interests should be proven.
Once again, 1 appreciated the opportunity of serving the City's needs over tle past lb
years and certinly desire tc continue to do so.
Brent Owen
Retail, Regulatory, and Lii1e Dept.
