Newell, P.E., City Engine4�� <br /> V� <br /> SUBJECT: 27th Street Pavement Repair <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing an <br /> agreement with Otto Baum Company, Inc. in the amount of$6,322.00 for the repair of a failed <br /> section of pavement on 27`h Street north of Hubbard Avenue and that the Mayor be authorized to <br /> execute the agreement, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> A 43 foot section of concrete pavement on 27th Street just north of Hubbard Avenue, has failed <br /> and is in need of immediate repair. This section of pavement is heavily used by grain trucks <br /> accessing ADM. With ongoing limb pickup it is not possible for City crews to attend to this <br /> necessary street repair in a timely manner. <br /> City Engineering requested quotes from area contractors to repair the failed pavement section so <br /> that the pavement can be restored to full service as soon as possible. The quotes received to <br /> perform the work are: <br /> Contractor uote <br /> Engineer's Estimate $ 9,317.00 <br /> Otto Baum Company, Inc. $ 6,322.00 <br /> Barr&Robison Sewer& Excavating Co. $ 7,335.00 <br /> Christy-Foltz, Inc. $ 9,803.00 <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br />
