� Nei�hborhood Monument Restoration Program <br /> Reimbursement guidelines and requirements for the restoration of neighborhood monuments that are <br /> located all or in part on City right of way. Contact the Department of Engineering and Infrastructure <br /> (424-2747) if there are any questions regarding this program. <br /> Dated: August 2006 <br /> The Director of Engineering and Infrastructure has set forth the following requirements governing <br /> the disbursement of funds for the Neighborhood Monument Restoration Program (NMRP): <br /> 1. General: The City is offering reimbursement for entry way monument restoration for monuments <br /> at entry ways on or along public right of way accessing residential neighborhoods. Eligible work I <br /> includes the restoration or rebuilding of brick work or facing on monuments along with foundation <br /> repair, cap repair or replacement,tuck pointing, brick replacement, ornamental metal work repair, <br /> lighting improvements and other approved work items that pertain to the restoration of the <br /> monument structure. <br /> 2. Designated Neighborhood Representative: Those desiring to be involved in the monument <br /> restoration(generally the residents of the street on which the monument is placed) must designate <br /> by petition (attached) a neighborhood representative to: <br /> a. Work with the area residents (and possibly restoration contractors)to determine the scope � <br /> of work necessary to repair the monument(s), <br /> b. Obtain quotes for the proposed work, <br /> c. Submit a request to the Department of Engineering and Infrastructure for matching funds <br /> from the City's NMRP, ' <br /> d. Collect and secure neighborhood matching funds, <br /> e. Administer restoration contracts or related machinery rental, <br /> £ Oversee the restoration work and cleanup, <br /> g. Arrange for periodic and final inspection from City Engineering (424-2747), <br /> h. Arrange payment for eligible work items; and, <br /> i. Complete and submit final paperwork and receipts to the City and receive NMRP <br /> reimbursement funds. <br /> 3. Reimbursement: Reimbursement will be based upon the proportion of the monuments that are <br /> on City right of way up to 80% of the eligible costs with a maximum reimbursement of$6,000 per <br /> entry way location which generally consists of two monuments located on opposite sides of a <br /> public street accessing a residential area. To be eligible for any reimbursement, at least 30% of <br /> one of the monument structures must be within the public right of way. <br /> A limited amount of funding will be allocated by the City Council during each fiscal year. <br /> Funding is subject to City Council approval. Projects will generally be funded, or proposed for �I <br /> funding, on a first come, first served basis. , <br />
