RESOLUTION NO. R2007-25 <br /> RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE RECnMMENDATIONS <br /> OF THE GREATER DECATUR WATER COMMISSION <br /> WHEREAS, the Greater Decatur Water Commission was formed to discuss the <br /> issue of how to best provide for the city's future water needs and to promote the Decatur <br /> community and region at large; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Greater Decatur Water Commission is represented by elected <br /> officials from the County of Macon, elected officials and staff from the City of Decatur, <br /> as well as officials from the Macon County Conservation District and Sanitary District of <br /> Decatur; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on September 19, 2005 the City Council entered into an Agreement <br /> with the firm of Homer Chastain and Associates regarding Lake Decatur Sediment and <br /> additional Water Storage Project. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 1�HE CITY COLJNCIL OF THF, <br /> C1 I'Y OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the recommendations listed herein approved by the Greater <br /> Decatur Water Commission be, and they are hereby, accepted by the City Council as <br /> worthy of further research. The recommendations are: to Accelerate Dredging of Lake <br /> Decatur, to further pursue Sanitary District of Decatur Horizontal Well Concept, <br /> continued research regarding Use of North Lake and Use of Lake Tokorozawa, and Field <br /> "I'ile Storage Systems. <br /> Section 2.
