� , Attachment A � <br /> Description of Amendment <br /> The Department through the Governmental Body is initiating the retrofit of traffic signal <br /> incandescent lamps to LED modules. The cost of LED retrofit at an intersection shall be <br /> shared in proportion to the number of approaches maintained by each unit of government. <br /> The intersections selected for the conversion and the share of cost responsibility at each <br /> intersection is indicated in Attachment B. <br /> The scope of the LED module conversion is limited to removing the existing opticai units from <br /> the signal and pedestrian sections and installing LED modules in the same sections. Use of <br /> existing signal head housing and pedestrian head housi�g shall �iP made unless the housing <br /> cross-section is physically corroded to ar extent that mounting of the LED module is not <br /> structurally sound. The use of ancillary items including but not limited to load switches shall be <br /> made only when necessary to achieve acceptable traffic signal operation. <br /> The LED conversion at all locations in Attachment B shall be completed at the latest but no <br /> later then-June 30, 2008. <br /> The purchase of the LED modules and other traffic signal parts necessary for the LED <br /> conversion including but not limited to load switches, signal heads, pedestrian heads and <br /> signal head sections shall be off the State of Illinois Central Management Services <br /> procurement contracts. <br />
