Pe y, Purchasing Supervisor�p �° <br /> t <br /> SUBJECT: Tabled Bid of Walker's Tree Care <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to <br /> Walker's Tree Care, Inc. to furnish herbicide application and tree & bush removal along <br /> Lost Bridge Road south embankment adjacent to and crossing Lake Decatur. <br /> BACKGROUND: This item was previously tabled by City Council at the <br /> November 20, 2006 meeting. Staff has contacted Walker's Tree Care, Inc. and made <br /> them aware that all landscape debris from this project must be disposed of in a legal and <br /> proper manner or in a landscape waste facility. Walker's has signed an agreement to this <br /> effect. <br /> Secondly, City Council requested that Walker's Tree Care provide the City with proof of <br /> insurance and name the City as additional insured. This was a requirement of the <br /> Invitation to Bid, which Walker's Tree Care has submitted as part of their bid. <br /> Walker's Tree Care has provided the necessary bonding requirements for this project. <br /> Walker's Tree Care completed a similar project in August of this year on the North side <br /> of Lost Bridge Road. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Lake Division requested the work and wrote the <br /> specifications. , <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Water Department Director 424-2863, Joe 'I <br /> Nihiser, Lake Foreman 424-2837. Keith will be at the meeting to answer any questions <br /> the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $9200—Tree & Bush Removal <br /> 800—Herbicide Application <br /> $10,000 from Water Lake Capital Fund. <br />
