z
ENGINEERING & INFRASTRUCTURE MEMORANDUM
NO. 2006-68
' November 13, 2006
TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council
FROM: Steve Gar , City Manager
Matthew . well, P. E.,Acting Director of Engineering and Infrastruct
SUBJECT: Water Service Agreement for 2230 and 2250 South Shores Drive
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolutions authorizing
Water Service Agreements between the City of Decatur and the property owners of 2230 South
Shores Drive and 2250 South Shores Drive, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign said
resolutions and the City Clerk to attest
BACKGROUND:
In 1971 the City extended a 12 inch water main on South Shores Drive to provide water service to
the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company.
As is typical with extensions beyond the City limits, residents periodically request City water to
service properties located outside the City. To service properties outside City limits, a Water
Service Agreement must be entered into between the City and the property owner(s).
2230 and 2250 South Shores Drive are adjacent to each other and are approximately 400 feet west
of City limits.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this resolution
and agreement.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None.
STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, Acting Director of Engineering
and Infrastructure, at 424-2747
Matt Newell will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the
Council on this item.
