N ell, P.E., Acting Director of Engineering & Infrastru� e <br /> SUBJECT: Illinois Commerce Commission Stipulated Agreement No. 1232 <br /> Concerning Highway - Rail Grade Crossing Protection Improvements at the <br /> Moffet Lane / Norfolk Southern Railroad Company Main Track <br /> City Project 06-09 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution autharizing <br /> Stipulated Agreement No. 1232 with the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) regarding the <br /> installation of railroad grade crossing protection on Moffet Lane at the Norfolk Southern track <br /> crossing just north of U.S. Route 36 and the Mayor be authorized to sign said agreement and the <br /> City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Stipulated Agreement No. 1232 directs the installation of gates to the existing at-grade crossing of � <br /> the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks and Moffet Lane just north of U.S. Route 36. The worlc will <br /> primarily be paid for by the State of Illinois. The City portion of the wark will be to install <br /> advanced warning signs and pavement markings.
