Perry, Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: Additional Cost to South Water Treatment Plant Roof <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends increasing contract to King- I <br /> Lar to insulate the roof curbs on the South Water Treatment Plant. <br /> BACKGROUND: A contract was previously awarded to King Lar in June of this year i <br /> to furnish a modified bituminous roof for the South Water Treatment Plant for <br /> $396,776.00. <br /> During construction of the new roof, it was discovered that the existing insulation applied , <br /> to the skylight curbs could not be salvaged and must be replaced. According to Keith <br /> Alexander, this was an emergency situation since portions of the old roof were removed <br /> before the new roof could be installed. Keith said they could not have large amounts of <br /> rainwater leaking into the filter room below where the insulation was bad and leaking on <br /> ' critical electric components. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Management requested the additional <br /> insulation work. <br /> ; <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Water Management Director 424-2862. <br /> Keith will be at the meeting to answer any questions council may have about this <br /> purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $13,667.61 from the Water Management Fund. <br />
