Perry, Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for posi-track surface loader <br /> SUMMA.RY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Vermeer Sales <br /> and Service of Central Illinois, Inc. to furnish one (1) 2006 RC-85 ASV Posi-track surface <br /> loader. <br /> BACKGROiJND: This equipment will be used by the Forestry Division to clear snow in the <br /> downtown area, mow off-road water retention areas, and clean creeks of log and beaver dams. <br /> This equipment will replace a 1997 Posi-track all surface loader currently in service. <br /> The low bidder has provided the City with the necessary bonding requirements. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The posi-track all surface loader vehicle was r�quested <br /> by the Forestry Division. Fleet Maintenance and Forestry wrote the bid specifications. Both <br /> recommend approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Steve Swanson, Director of Engineering and Infrastructure 424-2747. <br /> Steve will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the council may have about this <br /> purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $61,900 (includes trade-in of old unit) from Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
