Alexander, Director of Water Management (i f�_ <br /> �`f � <br /> SUBJECT: University of Illinois - Illinois State Water Survey <br /> Lake Decatur Watershed Monitoring Agreement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing Amendment No. 09 to Standard Research <br /> Agreement No. 2003-07569-00 with the University of Illinois for Lake Decatur watershed <br /> monitoring services provided by the Illinois State Water Survey for a fixed cost of$93,764. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This agreement continues water quality monitoring from June 20, 2006 through August 31, 2008 <br /> in the Lake Decatur watershed for the 14th and 15t" consecutive years. It also provides for a <br /> comparison and report of these findings with previous monitoring efforts. A portion of the <br /> City's financial contribution to this agreement will be credited as a non federal financial <br /> contribution to the USEPA Targeted Watersheds Grant administered by the Agricultural <br /> Watershed Institute in the Lake Decatur watershed. In 2008 there may no longer be a need for <br /> this monitoring, so it is anticipated that this agreement may not be extended at that time. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Illinois State Water Survey <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
