' s,
Decatur City Council
Goa1s Report
Below you will find your prioritized list of goals and council responsibilities as
deternuned by voting during our most recent goals session. The list represents those goals
that the collective majority of the council(4 votes or more) selected as being most
important and is as follows:
Goal Type
dopt Local Lincoln Heritage Development Pian Short
Address Financial/Budgeting Issues Short
Hold Disaster Readiness Study Sessions Short
Downtown Redevelopment Strategy Short
Develop Inftastructure Master Plans Short
Implement Citywide GIS Long
Evaluate Code Enforcement Best Practices Long
Lake Decatur Development Long
Customer Service Initiatives Long
Impiement Lincoln Herita e Development Plan Long
 , }
t y ,, y
:,k ,
*,fi`:;
.
Timelines and staff action nlans for achievinQ each Qoal are attached for vour
review
T'his list was prioritized items based solely on votes,however, it should not be
seen as an indicator that we will not pursue other goals if given an opportunity. It simply
means that those items that you as a group deemed to be most important will,when
possible,receive attention first. This list is not a11-inclusive and should be seen as a road
map for future activities rather than an inflexible document that cannot be changed. In
many cases,unforeseen opportunities will azise for us to pursue projects not currently
listed as priorities which may ca11 for us as a city to change our current course of action.
Finallv,it should be noted that we will aursue renovation of the Transfer
House this vear. It was not listed here because the decision has alreadv been made to
pursue the work as soon as aossible.
If the general consensus is that this list is acceptable,we would propose having
you vote to accept it during the next City Council meeting. We would also propose
reviewing this list every six months or annually.
