Item Coversheet Page 1 of 1 <br /> Fire Department <br /> DATE: 10/2/2015 <br /> MEMO: 15-08 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason,City Manager <br /> Jeff Abbott,Fire Chief <br /> Deborah M.Perry,Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting the Bid of Jackson Ford,Decatur,IL,for the Purchase of Two <br /> (2)Ford 2016,Interceptor Mid-Size Utility Vehicles <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract in the amount of$55,974.00 to Jackson Ford, <br /> Decatur,IL.,to furnish two(2)2016 Ford Interceptor Utility Vehicles. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Fire Departments is replacing one(1)2003 Ford Explorer and one(1)2001 Chevrolet Tahoe. The normal life expectancy of <br /> these vehicles is eight(8)years. The Tahoe was recently removed from service because of transmission problems. <br /> OTHER BIDDERS:Nine(9)bid proposals were sent out with three(3)bids returned. Bob Ridings of Taylorville,bid$56,770.00 <br /> and Miles Chevrolet of Decatur bid$77,522.00.
