Marley, P.E., Public Works Director SUBJECT: Ordinance Establishing Handicap Parking Space in Front of 1087 West King Street SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of a handicap parking space in front of 1087 West King Street as recommended by the Traffic and Parking Commission BACKGROUND: On October 22, 2015, the Traffic&Parking Commission approved a request from City staff recommending the installation of a handicap parking space in front of 1087 West King Street, which was requested by Willie Jelks, who resides at this location. Public parking is currently allowed on the south side of the street at this location. The house is located on the south side of the street. The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinance for Council's review. Schedule: Installation is normally completed within 10 days of Council authorization. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: No objections anticipated INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission STAFF RF.FF:RF.NCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747. Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item. BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Budget Impact: Budgetary impacts are appro�mately$400 for the installation of the requested signs and pavement markings.
