Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Establishing Handicap Parking Space in Front of 1087 West King Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of a <br /> handicap parking space in front of 1087 West King Street as recommended by the Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On October 22, 2015, the Traffic&Parking Commission approved a request from City staff recommending the installation of a <br /> handicap parking space in front of 1087 West King Street, which was requested by Willie Jelks, who resides at this location. Public <br /> parking is currently allowed on the south side of the street at this location. The house is located on the south side of the street. <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinance for Council's review. <br /> Schedule: Installation is normally completed within 10 days of Council authorization. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: No objections anticipated <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF RF.FF:RF.NCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747.
