Monroe <br /> � SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awazding contract to Anderson <br /> Backhoe Inc. to remove asbestos, do necessary plumbing and demolish the property located at <br /> 1405 N. Monroe. � <br /> BACKGROUND: On November 21, 2005, City Council approved a bid for Hutchins <br /> Excavating to demolish the property at 1405 N. Monroe. Mr. Greg Hutchins, owner of Hutchins <br /> Excavating, was notified by staff on at least three separate occasions to sign a contract to do the <br /> work. Each time he was contacted he indicated he was too busy to come and sign the paperwork. <br /> Since Hutchins Excavating was unable to enter into a contract for the demolition of 1405 N. <br /> Monroe, the second low bidder, Anderson Backhoe, was contacted to do the work. Anderson <br /> Backhoe indicates they will demolish the property at 1405 N. Monroe. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Neighborhood Services recommends approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Dave Griffiths, Neighborhood Inspections Administrator, 424-2794. <br /> Dave Griffiths will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the council may have about <br /> this matter. <br /> BUDGET: $7625 from the Demolition Fund. <br />
