. , <br /> City staff as a follow-up to recent comments made by Council members prepared a Request for <br /> Qualifications and Expressions of Interest(RFQEI) to solicit statements from consultants to <br /> perform a study for the remodel of the City Council Chamber. The RFQEI was sent to seven <br /> pre-selected consultants considered by City staff to have the qualifications for this study. Five <br /> consultants submitted statements of qualifications and interest in response to the request. A <br /> selection panel consisting of Jerry Bauer, Asst. City Manager for Operations; John Smith, Asst. <br /> City Manager for Public Services; Dane Bragg, Asst. City Manager for Economic &Urban <br /> Development; Bud Wilcox, Civic Center Manager; and Steve Swanson, Director of Engineering <br /> & Infrastructure, reviewed and rated the five statements that were received. <br /> The panel selected three consultants to be interviewed for the project. The three firms were <br /> Architectural Expressions, LLD; BLDD Architects, Inc.; and Blank, Wesselink, Cook and <br /> Associates, Inc. The selection panel conducted an interview of each consultant and decided on <br /> the firm of BLDD, Architects, Inc., as the preferred firm for the project. <br /> City staff has negotiated an agreement with BLDD for the study. The project will consist of <br /> BLDD conductin work sessions with various users of the facilit to obtain in ut on su ested <br /> g Y P gg <br /> needs and improvements, having acoustic evaluations made of the room and assessing possible <br /> room layouts. BLDD will then prepare recommendations along with conceptual plans and cost <br /> estimates for review and consideration by the City. The City will decide at the conclusion of the i <br /> study whether it wants to proceed and if so how. A copy of the agreement is attached. The cost <br /> of the study is not to exceed $15,000 plus an allowance of$1000 for reimbursable expenses for <br /> the printing of documents. <br /> i <br /> I <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No known objectors. � <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> In addition to the members of the selection panel input was obtained from the Barry Leonard, � <br /> City Rislc Manager, regarding insurance and liability requirements for the agreement.
