r <br /> (1) N.E.C. 230.2 Number of services - only one service drop or lateral <br /> shall be permitted unless written approval by the Inspection Division is obtained <br /> for the conditions(a)through(d) of said Article 230.2. <br /> (2) N.E.C. 230.43 Service - entrance conductors shall be installed in <br /> accordance with the applicable requirements of this code covering the type of <br /> wiring method used and shall be limited to the following methods: <br /> (a) Rigid metal conduit; <br /> (b) Intermediate metal conduit; <br /> (c) Rigid nonmetal conduit. <br /> Any other method described shall have written consent of the Inspection <br /> Division and local utility company. <br /> (3) N.E.C. 230.70 (A) Location. The service disconnecting means shall <br /> be installed at a readily accessible location either outside of a building or structure, <br /> or inside nearest point of entrance of the service conductors, but not to exceed ten <br /> feet. <br /> (4) Where city water is available, the electrical service shall be bonded to <br /> the cold water piping with a jumper around the water meter. <br /> (5) All new non-residential electric services shall have a fault study <br /> provided using the inspection department form and be approved before an <br /> electrical pernut is issued. All new services fed from the utility downtown network <br /> shall have a minimum 100,000 A.I.C. rating for the service equipment. Services <br /> fed from a 50 KVA or less transformer will not require the study be done, but the <br /> transformer size and address shall be listed on the form and signed by the preparer. <br /> 10. CODE APPLICATIONS - SPECIFIC <br /> A. New buildings of all types: <br /> 1) The 2005 edition of the National Fire Protection Association will be the <br /> accepted code for all electrical wiring installations, provided that Article 210.52 <br /> (C)(2) and(3) Shall be optional. <br /> 5) Where feeders are to be used to provide ground-fault protection as <br /> permitted by NEC 215.9, all Receptacles and lighting protected shall be labeled at <br /> the panel. <br /> 7) Smoke detectors shall be as per 907.2.10 of the International Fire Code <br /> - 2003 Edition. <br />
