. � �. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2005-51 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 60 - <br /> - TAXICABS AND TAXI DRIVERS - <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Sections 9 and 12 of Chapter 60 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois, be, and the same are hereby, modified and amended, so that said Sections 9 and 12 of said <br /> Cha ter 60 as so modified and amended shall rovide as follows: <br /> P P <br /> 9. ISSUANCE OF LICENSE. The Financial Management Department <br /> shall issue all licenses hereunder only (a) upon favorable action by the Council, <br /> and; (b) upon evidence that applicant has filed his certificates of insurance with a <br /> showing that all required insurance policies are in force and effect, and; (c) upon <br /> certificate or report by an ASE certified mechanic that each vehicle to be used <br /> complies with requirements hereinafter set out; and; (d) upon payment of the fees <br /> required. <br /> 12. STANDARDS FOR VEHICLES. No vehicle shall be licensed until it <br /> has been examined and certified by an ASE certified mechanic that each vehicle to <br /> be used complies with the requirements set forth herein and a certificate of safety <br /> issued thereon and said vehicle is clean, of good appearance, well painted, <br /> equipped with a taxi-meter and so constructed that the occupants can be plainly <br /> seen from the outside of said vehicle at all times. Each such vehicle shall be so <br /> tested semiannually and a report of such test shall be filed in the Financial <br /> Management Department. After any accident involving a taxicab, the Chief of <br /> Police or his designee may require that said taxicab again be tested at such of�cial <br /> testing station. The City Manager or his <br /> designee may revoke or suspend the license of any t�icab not inspected and <br /> certified as herein provided or any taxicab which upon being tested as aforesaid <br /> fails to qualify for a certificate of safety or is found to be unclean, not of good <br />
