. <br /> CHAPTER 34 <br /> TRAFFIC <br /> ADDITIONS AND <br /> 35. ABANDONED OR DISABLED VEHICLES ... <br /> E. Except where necessary to avoid conflict with other <br /> traffic, or in compliance with law or the directions of a police of�icer <br /> or oi�cial traffic control device, no person shall stop, stand, leave or <br /> park any vehicle in a public parking area or on a City street or alley if <br /> the vehicle does not display a current annual registration sticker or <br /> temporary permit pending registration. A vehicle found to be on the <br /> public right-of-wav in violation of this section shall be subiect to <br /> immediate removal and towin�pursuant to Section 38 (A)(ri) of this <br /> Chapter. <br /> Section 2. That Section 37 of Chapter 34 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br /> be, and the same is hereby modified and amended by adding a new subsection (1) at the end <br /> thereof, so that said Section 37 (1) shall provide as follows: <br /> 37. REMOVAL OF VEHICLES. Police of�cers are hereby <br /> authorized to remove or cause to be removed a vehicle from a public <br /> street or highway to the nearest garage, impound lot or other place <br /> of safety, or to a location designated by the Chief of Police, under the <br /> following circuxnstances: <br /> (1) When anv vehicle is parked on anv street, allev or other public <br /> property which lacks evidence of current, le a�gistration, visible <br /> from the outside of said vehicle. <br /> Section 3. That Section 38 A. (i) and (ri) of Chapter 34 of the City Code of the City of <br /> Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby modified and amended, so that said Section 38 as so <br /> modified and amended shall provide as follows: , <br /> 38.
