EXCERPTS OFTHE
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
TRAFFIC AND PARKING COMMISSION
Tuesday, April 12, 2005, 4:00 P.M.
Item #2 -#6 Request for stop signs at the intersections of Pine Street and
Marietta Street, King Street and Pine Street, Taft Street and Rosedale
Avenue, Main Street and Stone Street, and Main Street and East
Avenue
Newell explained the next five items are residential intersections which were brought to
the Traffic and Parking Commission from an in-depth review City staff is performing.
There are about seventy (70) intersections being reviewed that have a high accident rate
and these are the first brought to the Commission. Several of these intersections are
low volume, however; on-street parking and sight distance in general are factors in the
occurrence of accidents.
Staff recommends stop signs be installed at the subject intersections.
Wennecker suggested handling these items in one vote. It was moved and seconded
(Zaiz / Harris) to follow staff recommendation for items # 2 through # 6. Motion carried
unanimously.
