Stewart,Transportation Planner! <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 1810 Ferris Drive <br /> SiJMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROLTND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City <br /> Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.851 acres, the property is a single family residence. <br /> Annexation is requested far connection to City water. The property to the north is zoned R-3 Single <br /> Family Residence District; property to the south and west is in the County; property to the east is located <br /> in the County and part of the property is located in the City and zoned R-1 Single Family Residence <br /> District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The <br /> following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. There is a single family residence on the parcel. <br /> 2. City water is available along Ferris Drive and Greenview Drive. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Deparhnent is seven(7)minutes. <br /> 5. Ferris Drive is sealed treated and maintained by the City. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,jastewart(ii�decaturnet.orQ. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $612.22 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($402.90) motor fuel ($108.94) and state income taxes <br /> ($100.38)from the property. <br />
