• '
EXCERPTS OF THE
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
TRAFFIC AND PARKING COMMISSION
Tuesday, October 12, 2004, 4:00 P.M.
Item #4 Request to allow parking on South Dennis Avenue, south of Sunset
Avenue
Bauer stated this item had been addressed by the Commission a few months earlier.
Veteto questioned if a letter had been sent to the resident making the request to allow
parking. Newell responded that in an oversight, the letter had not been sent. The
resident thought her request had been approved and the City had forgotten to take the
signs down. She proceeded to park on the street and received a ticket. A 90 day order
from the Police Chief to remove the signs has been in place since the end of July.
Walker was concerned the resident did not understand that anyone is allowed to park
there once the signs have been removed. Newell has spoken with her several times and
she is aware of this. There was a concern that people wanting to fish at Lake
Tokorozawa would try to park at this location however, since fishing is now allowed only
by permit, vehicles wanting to park there is not an issue as it had been in the past.
Staff recommends approval of the request to allow parking on South Dennis Avenue,
 south of Sunset Avenue.
It was moved and seconded (Harris / Walker) to follow staff recommendation. Motion
carried unanimously. ,
