Stewart,Transportation Plann r SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at West Arbor Drive SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 20.37 acres, the property currently is vacant. The site will be developed as First Baptist Church. Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to the east is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District and R-5 Two Family Residence District; property to the north is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District and also in the County; property to the south and west is in the County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: 1. The parcel is currently vacant. 2. City water is available along West Arbor Ihive. 3. Sanitary sewer is available along West Arbor Drive. 4. T'he average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Deparhnent is 8.8 minutes. 5. West Arbor Drive is asphalted and maintained by the City. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department and the Decatur Sanitary District.
