Stewart,Transportation Plann r <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at West Arbor Drive <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City <br /> Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 20.37 acres, the property currently is vacant. The site will be <br /> developed as First Baptist Church. Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to <br /> the east is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District and R-5 Two Family Residence District; property <br /> to the north is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District and also in the County; property to the south <br /> and west is in the County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence <br /> District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is currently vacant. <br /> 2. City water is available along West Arbor Ihive. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is available along West Arbor Drive. <br /> 4. T'he average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Deparhnent is 8.8 minutes. <br /> 5. West Arbor Drive is asphalted and maintained by the City. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,jaste��art a),decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None. <br />� I <br />
