Stewart,Transportation Planner�� <br /> d <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 2501 West Center Street <br /> SLJMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City <br /> Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 2.225 acres, the property currently has a single family structure <br /> on the site. Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to the north is zoned R-1 <br /> Single Family Residence District; property to the east is zoned R-3 Single Family Residence Dish-ict; <br /> property to the south and west is in the County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 <br /> Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel has a single family structure on the site. <br /> 2. City water is available along West Center Street. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is within 200 feet of the property along West Center Street. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is five (5)minutes. <br /> 5. West Center Street is asphalted and maintained by the City. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. , <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal � <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department I <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have quesrions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782, iastewart(-�ridecatumet.or�. <br /> BUDGET/TIME Il�IPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately$678.85 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($469.53)motor fuel (�108.94) and state income taxes <br /> ($100.38) from the property. <br />
