Stewart,Transportation Planner�� d SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 2501 West Center Street SLJMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 2.225 acres, the property currently has a single family structure on the site. Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to the north is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District; property to the east is zoned R-3 Single Family Residence Dish-ict; property to the south and west is in the County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: 1. The parcel has a single family structure on the site. 2. City water is available along West Center Street. 3. Sanitary sewer is within 200 feet of the property along West Center Street. 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is five (5)minutes. 5. West Center Street is asphalted and maintained by the City. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. , INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal � Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department I and the Decatur Sanitary District.
