Stewart,Transportation Planner`_, <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly lrnown as 2954 West Ash Avenue <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: 'This petition negates the original ordinance due to an error in the submitted legal <br /> description. A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City <br /> Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 77.15 acres, the property will be a future church site. <br /> Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to the south is zoned R-1 Single <br /> Family Residence District and M-1, Intense Commercial-Light Industrial District; property to the north, <br /> west and east is in the County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family <br /> Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is currently vacant. <br /> 2. City water will be available to the site and is expected to be extended in the future. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is seven and nine- <br /> tenths (7.9)minutes. <br /> . 5. Currently the street is unimproved. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Deparhnent <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,jaste���art cL�decatumet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None. <br />
