Gilead Road �I <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce I <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. I <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the I <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 11.73 acres, the property will be a future church site. <br /> Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to the north is zoned R-1 Single <br /> Family Residence District and B-2, Commercial District; property to the south, west and east is in the <br /> County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The <br /> following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is currently farm land. <br /> 2. City water will be available to the site and is expected to be extended in the future. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is nine (9) minutes. The property is not located within a <br /> Fire Protection District. I <br /> 5. Mt. Gilead Road is seal treated. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- ' <br /> 2782,jastewart(�z)decaturnetor�. � <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None. <br />
