. � 1 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2004-56 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> CHAPTER 28 <br /> -UNLAWFUL DISCRIMINATION- <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 28 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the <br /> same is hereby, amended and modified at Article 4, Section 4.4, so that said Article 4, Section 4.4 <br /> as amended, sha11 provide as follows: <br /> ARTICLE 4. INVESTIGATION AND CONCILIATION <br /> Section 4.4. The Human Relations Of�cer shall promptly investigate allegations of <br /> discrimination set forth in any charge, and a detennination in writing shall be made <br /> by said officer whether or not there is probable cause to believe that this Chapter <br /> has been violated and on what facts such violation is based. <br /> In the event that investigation of a charge presents a conflict of interest for the <br /> Human Relations Officer, said Officer shall: <br /> (a) Notify the City Manager of the complaint and the conflict of interest, and <br /> the City Manager shall take such steps as necessary to ensure that the complaint is <br /> promptly investigated by a person appointed by the City Manager, and a <br /> determination in writing is made of whether or not there is probable cause to <br /> believe that this Chapter has been violated and on what facts such violation is <br /> based. <br />
